Perspectives From the Field: Missing Community Connections

February 24, 2021

A service provider within Child and Family programs in Saskatchewan shares the concerns of others working with children during COVID-19, and that not being able to go out into the community to visit the families they support has been difficult.

“I cannot go out into the community the same as before. It has made it difficult to connect with clients/children like we normally would,” they expressed.

The service provider is also concerned for the students finishing their practicums during COVID-19. They feel as though students are not able to have the same experiences of field/frontline work as they normally would have before COVID-19.

The service provider expressed that despite these worries, it has been positive to see parents rising to the challenge of virtual communications during these times of constant adaptations.
